Politics and Religion (opinion piece)
[disclaimer: all opinions expressed are the views of the author only and in no way represent any associated organizations, corporations, media frenzies, lineage connections and/or confidants, yadda yadda... #doesanyoneevenreaddisclaimers .. that said, my wife and I have wildly differing view points on politics despite officially registering with the same political party, we also get along great at home and love each other very much]
While the GOP has degenerated further into childish squabbling this past week, the democrats have a startling change in momentum of who the leading candidate might be.

Several popular comedians (such as Stephen Colbert, Louis CK, John Oliver and Trevor Noah) have been slamming Donald Trump harder and harder in direct correlation to the rise in popularity of Donald. This might have had the adverse effect of increasing air time and publicity. The average voter may not be well informed, but through plenty of news articles in the press, anti-advertisements and celebrity status of Donald's tv show, gained name recognition.
In essence, we shot ourselves in the foot. In trying to disrupt Donald's popularity, we instead gave it to him.
