the possibility of misplaced justice and the seven deadly sins

This sense of misplaced justice as a possible eighth sin of the seven deadly sins is a common theme in the web novel (also as a light novel, manga ..maybe some day an anime), Rise of the Hero of the Shield.

most of the seven deadly sins can be derived from the three main weaknesses (1st John 2:16)

1. Lust of the Flesh

Gluttony, Sloth

2. Lust of the Eyes

Greed, Lust, Envy

3. Pride of Life

Pride, Wrath

I'm currently reading chapter 270 of the web novel, Rise of the Hero of the Shield chapter. It can get very deep and ponderous in some chapters, and quickly switch to light-hearted comedic relief. Information control is utilized by several characters in the web novel to manipulate the strong characters in an attempt to antagonize the protagonist of the novel. Incidentally, the main character is greedy (and surprisingly effective at making money, it's an asian fantasy novel see).

The novel also brings in many instances of the traditional 4 virtues of greek philosophy;

Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Courage

As well as setting up scenes for the following qualities seen in 1st Corinthians 13:13

Faith Hope Charity.

However, as easy as it is to showcase the qualities of humans at their best, when unguided or misguided, the web novel demonstrates how easy they are corrupted.

That said, even when the worse side of human beings are shown in human nature, there are redeeming opportunities that can appear.

Even though the good does not outweigh the bad, there is the chance for redemption before it is too late (in the web novel).
